2017 SSL Tournament
The Olympia Lacrosse Club is proud to be hosting the 2017 SSL end of season tournament. This year’s tournament will be held in Lacey, WA, at the Regional Athletic Complex (RAC). The tournament will be held on May 20th and 21st.
This year’s tournament will guarantee each team a minimum of three games and will give teams who are knocked-out of the championship bracket an opportunity to compete to win in the consolation bracket. We will not be playing All-star games this year. We will be honoring All-stars, selected by coaches, based on their tournament play by presenting them with an All-star pinnie.
Most teams have already registered for the tournament. A full listing of which teams have registered is listed on page two of this document. Our final registration deadline is Wednesday May 10th. If you still wish to register a team please use the following link: https://goo.gl/forms/T0CI70kViGqXo4av2 This year’s registration fee is $400. Any final payments should be sent with your SSL rep to the May 10th SSL board meeting made out to South Sound Lacrosse League.
For 5-6 and 7-8 teams each division will have its own bracket. Meaning there will be a division one and a division two champion for each age group. Seeding for 5-6 and 7-8 brackets will be done by regular season winning percentage, so we will not be able to publish the brackets until after final games are played on the weekend of the 13th. 3-4 teams will not do a traditional bracket and will instead play a 3 game round robin style tournament on Saturday, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals on Sunday.
NO Mandatory Coaches Meeting This Year!
In years past coaches have been required to meet early on the first day of the tournament to get instructions and check-in. At this year’s tournament coaches will be required to check in at the Tournament Directors tent at least 45 minutes prior to their first scheduled game. All Coaches need to read the table rules prior to arrival and will receive any additional updates when they check-in.
Scorer’s Table & Sideline Managers Coaches need to ensure that each team provides someone to work the scorer’s table and a Sideline Manager for each game. Teams are not required to keep a full record book for this tournament, but are required to keep a book with goals scored during games to prevent disputes. The winning team’s scorer is responsible for bringing their score book with the final score of the game to the Tournament Director’s tent at the end of each game. Sideline Managers are responsible for ensuring game balls are on the sidelines before their game begins.
We hope you enjoy the tournament! Good luck to all!
